Bihar | Siwan: Daughters raised in remote rural areas can make their mark at the national level through talent, hard work and determination. Vaidehi Yadav, a resident of Laukipur village in Raghunathpur block of Siwan district, has proved this by carving out a place for herself in women’s cricket.

Coming from an ordinary family, Vaidehi has brought pride to her family, Raghunathpur block and the entire Siwan district through her achievements on the cricket field.

The Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) has appointed Vaidehi as captain of the Bihar Under-23 Women’s T20 team. She has been entrusted with leading the side in the opening two matches of the upcoming tournament. The competition will be held in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, from November 14 to 21. A 15-member Bihar squad has been selected for the tournament.

A Journey Built on Hard Work and Dedication

Vaidehi’s achievement is not the result of overnight success but reflects years of struggle, continuous practice and dedication to the sport. Despite growing up in a rural environment with limited resources, she has consistently demonstrated her cricketing abilities. She has previously represented Bihar’s women’s cricket team on several occasions, taking responsibility for the side. Being appointed captain of the Under-23 team marks another significant milestone in her cricketing journey.

Family and Village Celebrate Achievement

The appointment has brought immense happiness to Vaidehi’s family, particularly her father, Rakesh Yadav. Local residents, including Sujit Kumar Nirala, Avinash Kumar and Anil Yadav, along with others, expressed happiness over her achievement and congratulated her. They said Vaidehi’s success would inspire other girls from rural areas to pursue their dreams in sports.

Her journey has demonstrated that even with limited resources, hard work, perseverance and determination can help achieve significant milestones. The Bihar team will now look forward to a strong performance under Vaidehi’s leadership in the upcoming tournament.
